Machine wash cold, tumble dry low. The elastics are cut extra long due to anticipated shrinkage, so they should feel approximately one size too large if you try them on before washing. If you do not put your underwear in the dryer they will not shrink, so you may wish to buy a size down. You'll notice there is some overlap with the measurements on the size chart; my testers reported a variety of preferences (people with the same measurements preferred different sizes), so that is reflected in the overlaps (it depends if you prefer tighter or looser).
